One of the finest fighters from Taijiya Village, the birth place of the Shikon no Tama.  Her weapon of choice is an oversized boomerang, Hiraikotsu, which she handles with surprising ease, even when injured.  Naraku took control of her brother’s mind and forced him to attack her and her family, killing them all and mortally injuring Sango.  She thought he was dead for the longest time and was tricked by Naraku into attacking Inuyasha.  Her village was destroyed by youkai at Naraku’s bidding.  Now she travels with Inuyasha, Kagome and company to put an end to the evil youkai’s plans of destruction.  She sees Kagome as a sister-figure.  She also vehemently denies her attraction towards Miroku.
